CruinnTeo offer an intensive 3-week Leaving Cert Irish Course (4th-21st June 2024) for students entering 5th Year or 6th Year in September 2024. A key aim of CruinnTeo courses is to enhance students’ understanding and knowledge of the fundamental building blocks of the Irish language. Daily classes afford students the opportunity to both reinforce and enrich their language skills – reading, spoken interaction and writing.

Centrally delivered at the University of Galway, last June’s CruinnTeo course attracted students, not only from the city schools, but also from Oughterard, Kinvara, Mountbellew and Headford. The location is accessible by public transport – buses and trains. The daily classes run from 10:00am to 1:00pm meaning that students were also able to keep their Summer jobs.

In totalthecourse entails 42 hours of tuition which is equivalent to approximately half a year of school-time classes. This represents an excellent opportunity for those whose Irish may be a little rusty after Transition year, as well as for those who need improve their written and oral language skills.
